Scarecrow Trail 2022 June 18th - 29th Thank you to everyone took part in this year's Scarecrow Trail - and don't they look brilliant. Loads of skill and imagination capturing people's attention and giving us all a cheery antidote to the gloom that typically dominates the current news. Thank you all. Bob Topp Yes it was that time of year again and like last year our Scarecrow Trail coincided with the Patronal Festival weekend in late June. This year's theme was - ‘The World of Work’ - scarecrows with any activity that helps ‘keep the wolf from the door’ - Road contractors, office workers, health workers, builders, gardeners, telecommunications, home workers, farming, education, entertainment, the royal family, emergency and essential workers - there were just loads to choose from. Twenty-five scarecrows maintained this lovely Willersey tradition in 2021. Many of these are recorded here. If you had taken part in this Willersey ‘just for fun’ Scarecrow Trail to help brighten our daily village exercise walks, you simply displayed your scarecrow for the week beginning on Saturday 18th June for ten days.
